About me
I'm Sue, I've been knitting since childhood and I'm still learning! Originally taught by my Mum and my big brother's girlfriend (later sister-in-law), I ended up inheriting large bin bags of wool and knitting patterns that were originally used by my grandma!
While the chances of my knitting a 2-ply baby vest are pretty slim, it seemed a shame to just throw the patterns away or file them under nostalgia. Some have the shop stamps & pre-metric prices on them, some have notes from past knitters - and who knows whether they might be useful for someone in the future.
Helped by a tech-savvy daughter, we came up with the idea of creating a digital archive of the patterns, for personal use only. If you want to donate to keep the site running thats great, but I'm not doing this to make money, just to keep alive all the footnotes of our knitting heritage.
And if you too have a stash of old family patterns you'd like to add to the collection, please get in touch!
